ABOUT DAANTJE
Daantje Bons(1987) is a Dutch visual artist who uses photography to explore what often remains unchallenged: the moment when societal expectations intersect with body, gender, and identity.
Driven by personal observations and learned behaviors, her practice investigates womanhood and the boundaries of masculine and feminine constructs. Rather than providing easy answers, her images create a space where provocation, raw themes, and humor coexist to trigger critical thinking.
Her work has been exhibited and featured at institutes and galleries including the Vagina Museum in London, Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, and Gallery Størpunkt in Munich. Publications such as VOGUE Portugal, De Volkskrant, LINDA. Magazine and Refinery29 have featured her imagery, reflecting an artistic practice that understands photography as an ongoing investigation into both the self and society.
